MyMuse, direct-to-consumer (D2C) sexual wellness and bedroom essentials startup, has raised $1.2 million in a seed round of funding led by Saama Capital and participated by Sauce VC, Whiteboard Capital, Mohit and Malika Sadanni, Varun Sadana and others.

The Mumbai-based content to commerce startup plans to use the raised funds to grow its team, introduce a range of innovative products, strengthen brand positioning, and expand distribution, MyMuse said in a press release.

MyMuse is a gender-neutral brand dedicated to sexual wellness and offers products such as body massagers, lubricants, oils, couple games, gift kits, and relatable content. The company claims to have 40% M-o-M and served more than 15,000 customers across the country. Apart from its website, the company also leverages third-party marketplace for distribution.

While several startups have evangelised the sexual wellness space in the past five-six years, the space is yet to see any notable success. Imbesharam was one of the early startups that tried hard to crack the opportunity but couldn’t scale. Bengaluru-based Mojocare has been gaining prominence in the sexual wellness space in the recent past and recently cornered $20.6 million Series A round led by B Capital’s newly launched early-stage fund Ascent Capital.
