Dream Capital invests in social gaming app IMBR

Dream Capital invests in a social gaming app IMBR, making it Dream Capital’s second investment in SoStronk taking the total to $3 million.

IMBR, which stands for I’M Battle Ready, claims to have garnered almost a million downloads on the Play Store since its launch in recent months.

Bengaluru-based IMBR caters to popular apps such as Free Fire Max, PUBG New State, BGMI, Apex Legends, COD:M among others, and rewards them for their playing time.

Led by Karan Misra and Prashant Prabhakar, IMBR’s proprietary feature called “Guardian” makes the entire in-app experience smooth by automatically detecting the match rank and score and enables the user to instantly collect rewards upon completing a match.

Dream Capital is the corporate venture capital and M&A arm of Dream Sports, the parent company of gaming unicorn Dream11. In August 2021, Dream Capital had launched a $250 million worth fund to focus on startups in sports, online gaming, and the fitness-tech space.

The fund has invested in more than a dozen startups including fitness-tech startup Fittr, D2C sports brand Elevar and a $50 million round in its subsidiary FanCode.  Four months ago, it led a $100 million round in cricket NFT startup Rario.
