Early-stage focused fund Capital A has made a strategic investment in Oorja, which enables automotive companies to design better batteries, via its $10 million cleantech fund Evolve.
The company will use the proceeds to predict battery performance by monitoring parameters like temperature, which is a critical problem and to design better batteries, said the company in a press statement.
Oorja provides simple battery design solutions to electric vehicle makers and its competency lies in predicting accurate battery life, optimised pack design and saving cost and time.
The EV ecosystem has been grappling with the heating up of batteries which caused numerous incidents of catching fire. Oorja claims to solve these problems through its innovative and cutting-edge integration of physics with machine learning.
Led by Vineet Dravid, Oorja is the second investment for Capital A in the cleantech and electric mobility segment after an investment of $2.5 million in Chargeup, the company building Bharat’s largest network of battery swapping stations.
