Funding and acquisitions in Indian startups this week [27 June- 02 July]

This week, 19 Indian startups raised funding, of which 16 received a total of about $275.38 million. Arzooo and PropShare were the top fundraisers which scooped up $70 million and $47 million respectively. This is a massive week-on-week decline in total funding. Last week, 31 homegrown startups raised funding worth about $980 million.   

Meanwhile, the funding of three of the total funded startups remained undisclosed. 

Growth/late-stage deals 

This week, 6 growth and late-stage startups have scooped up funds which include Arzooo’s $70 million round and PropShare’s $47 million round. Fintech startup Progcap, e-commerce platform Purple Style and fintech startup GetVantage were also on the list.

Early-stage deals 

In the early-stage deals, 13 startups have raised funds which also include three undisclosed rounds. B2B startup Solv was on top of the list with a $40 million Series A round. The list also includes fintech startup CheQ Digital and EV startup Turno.

Undisclosed deals    

Open Secret, NOTO  and AHODS. did not disclose its financial details.  

City and segment-wise fundings  

This week, Bengaluru was on top in terms of the number of startup deals and the amount raised by them. According to Fintrackr’s data, 8 Bengaluru-based startups have raised funds this week amounting to $179.9 million or 65.33 % of the total funding. During the week, Delhi-NCR-based startups raised $43.23 million across 4 deals.

Fintech startups were the top segment in terms of the number of deals as startups in this space raised $89 million across 4 deals. B2B, SaaS, D2C, proptech, healthtech, and E-commerce startups were next on the list. 

Acquisitions this week 

Apart from the fundraisings, the week also saw three notable acquisitions. The list includes the acquisition of AI startup TheDataTeam by Lentra, Owndays by Lenskart and Pinaka Aerospace, SharpTanks and Wheels India by Zetwerk.

ESOPs 

This week also saw one ESOP buyback by foodtech decacorn Swiggy which was worth $23 million.
