WINDO raises $500K in seed round

Windo, solopreneurs and small merchants focused e-commerce enablement platform, has raised $1.5 million in pre-Series A round led by Unicorn India Ventures along with the participation of CapriGlobal, Aravind Sanka, K Ganesh and a few others.

The fresh capital will be utilised for product development and overseas expansion, the company said in a press release

Two-year-old Windo lets solopreneurs, influencers, small and midsize businesses open online stores through an app-first approach. To tap influencers, the company offers an app to start and manage Instagram-focused web stores. Windo claims to have 200K downloads with 50K monthly active users across 140 countries.

Windo competes with the likes of Dukaan, Shopify, Dot and Bikayi among several others. The e-commerce enablement space witnessed heightened competition last year when B Capital-backed Khatabook and OKCredit also launched their respective platforms but both companies abandoned their e-commerce ambitions early this year.
