Funding and acquisitions in Indian startups this week [30 May- 04 Jun]

This week, 33 Indian startups raised funding, of which 28 received a total of about $525.81 million. MoEngage and Cuemath

This week, 33 Indian startups raised funding, of which 28 received a total of about $525.81 million. MoEngage and Cuemath were the top fundraisers which scooped up $77 million and $57 million respectively. Last week, 30 homegrown startups raised funding worth about $251 million.   

Meanwhile, the funding of five of the total funded startups remained undisclosed.

Growth/late-stage deals 

This week, 9 growth and late-stage startups have scooped up funds which include MoEngage’s $77 million round and Cuemath’s $57 million round. Fintech startup Slice, DC2 beauty brand Sugar Cosmetics and cloud kitchen brand Curefoods raked in $50 million each.

Early-stage deals 

In the early-stage deals, 19 startups have raised funds which also include five undisclosed rounds. Gaming startup Eloelo was on top of the list with a $13 million round. The list also includes Aerospace startup Bellatrix Aerospace and agritech startup Nutrifresh.

Undisclosed deals   

Unotag, Glovatrix, Kwicpic, Offee, and EzeRx did not disclose its financial details.

City and segment-wise fundings 

This week, Bengaluru was on top in terms of the number of startup deals and the amount raised by them. According to Fintrackr’s data, 15 Bengaluru-based startups have raised funds this week amounting to $297.54 million or 56.59 % of the total funding. During the week, Delhi-NCR and Mumbai-based startups raised $165.84 million and $50 million across 6 and 3 deals respectively, followed by Hyderabad and Pune with 3 and 2 deals respectively.

Fintech startups were the top segment in terms of the number of deals as startups in this space raised $85 million across 4 deals. D2C, edtech, SaaS, healthtech, crypto and EV startups were next on the list. 

Acquisitions this week

Apart from more than 30 fundraising rounds, the week also saw three notable acquisitions.

The list includes the acquisition of data science startup Prakshep by Arya.ag, OneDirect by Gupshup and Verb Studio by Kafqa Academy.
