Funding and acquisitions in Indian startups this week [13 June-18 June]

This week, 38 Indian startups raised funding, of which 37 received a total of about $906.44 million. ShareChat alone raised $255 million.

Funding and acquisitions in Indian startups this week [06 June- 11 June]

This week, 38 Indian startups raised funding, of which 37 received a total of about $906.44 million. ShareChat and upGrad were the top fundraisers which scooped up $255 million and $225 million respectively. Last week, 37 homegrown startups raised funding worth about $600.38 million.   

Meanwhile, the funding of one of the total funded startups remained undisclosed. 

Growth/late-stage deals 

This week, 9 growth and late-stage startups have scooped up funds which include ShareChat’s $255 million round and upGrad’s $225 million round. Construction goods marketplace Infra.Market, D2C personal care brand Wow Skin Science and Tea-coffee chain Chaayos were also on the list.

Early-stage deals 

In the early-stage deals, 29 startups have raised funds which also include one undisclosed round. E-commerce roll-up GOAT Brand Labs was on top of the list with a $50 million Series A round. The list also includes B2B manufacturing startup Groyyo and EV startup Battery Smart.

Plutoverse did not disclose its financial details.  

City and segment-wise fundings  

This week, Bengaluru was on top in terms of the number of startup deals and the amount raised by them. According to Fintrackr’s data, 21 Bengaluru-based startups have raised funds this week amounting to $504.64 million or 55.67 % of the total funding. During the week, Delhi-NCR and Mumbai-based startups raised $162.8 million and $230.79 million across 9 and 5 deals respectively.

Fintech startups were the top segment in terms of the number of deals as startups in this space raised $54.8 million across 7 deals. B2B, D2C, edtech, SaaS foodtech startups were next on the list. 

Acquisitions this week

Apart from the fundraisings, the week also saw four notable acquisitions. The list includes the acquisition of customer engagement platform Leanplum by CleverTap, Pickrr by Shiprocket, Pebble by Mensa Brands and Overcart by ControlZ.
