Eco-friendly reusable diaper maker SuperBottoms has raised Rs 22.5 crore in Series A round co-led by DSG Consumer Partners and Saama Capital. This is the second funding round for the Mumbai-based firm in the past year.
SuperBottoms has a special resolution to allot 1,424 Series A preference Shares at an issue price of Rs 1,57,872.4 per share to raise Rs 22.5 crore, regulatory filings show.
DSG and Sama have infused Rs 11.05 crore each while Venture Catalyst has put in Rs 38 lakh. The Series A round appears to be ongoing one and it may raise more capital.
SuperBottoms offers reusable diapers which can be used 300 times. The six-year-old company claims to serve over 200K customers. It had raised Rs 15 crore in April from DSG, Saama, Titan Capital and VCat.
As per Fintrackr estimates, the company has been valued around Rs 285 crore in this round. Following the allotment of this round, SuperBottoms’ co-founders Pallavi and Salil Utagi’s collective stakes have been diluted to 52.44%. Saama and DSG hold 15.46 and 15.55% stake respectively in the company while Kunal Bahl and Rohit Bansal command 9.5%.
SuperBottoms had registered a 64.4% growth in its operating revenue to Rs 21.07 crore in FY21 from Rs 12.82 crore in FY20, according to the company’s annual financial statements. The firm reported a 10X jump in its losses to Rs 2.32 crore in FY21 from Rs 23 lakh in the preceding fiscal year (FY20).
