LectureNotes raises $2.5 Mn in pre-Series A round

Edtech startup LectureNotes has raised $2.5 Mn in its pre-Series A round from the Canada-based venture capital Jani Ventures.

The startup will deploy the funds towards building a strong experienced team, developing its B2C platform and expanding to new regions. In addition, it will also use a portion of funds towards improving and scaling its B2B digital class infrastructure named LectureRooms.

Founded in 2017 by Upamanyu Chatterjee, Shouradeep Chakraborty, Md Fazal Mustafa and Ayush Agarwal, LectureNotes offers online notes to undergraduate students.

It offers services such as handwritten notes via LectureNotes, live learning via LecturePrime, AI-personalisation of content called LectureRooms, insitututionalised courses via Lecture Academy, video conferencing infra for stakeholders called LectureRemote and CollegeShala.

The platform is currently available on the web, Android and iOS apps.  In 2021, Ayush Agarwal exited the startup, after a complete buyout of his shares.

In January this year, LectureNotes acquired Kolkata-based CollegeShala for an undisclosed amount in an all-stock deal.
