Exclusive: CollegeDekho acquires GetMyUni in all cash deal

Winter Capital-backed CollegeDekho has acquired GetMyUni in an all cash deal. This is the second acquisition by the Jaipur-based company in the past three years. In July 2019, it had acquired Scholarship Facilitation Services (SFS) for about $1 million.

CollegeDekho has passed a special resolution for the 100% acquisition of GetMuUni Education Services Private Limited (GMU), its regulatory filings show. Backed by Times Internet, GetMyUni provides information about colleges, courses, higher education to students and branding, market recruitment services to schools and corporates.

CollegeDekho is buying all equity and preference shares for an aggregate consideration of Rs 14.28 crore, filings show. The company appointed Rohit shah and Sudhir Bhargava to the board list of GMU’s

Six-year-old CollegeDekho connects students with colleges and offers a common application to apply to multiple colleges in a single click. The acquisition has come after a couple of months of CollegeDekho’s $35 million worth Series B round. It has raised $45 million in total funding.

During FY21, CollegeDekho's operating revenue increased by 27.6% to Rs 48 crore. The company’s losses also went up to the tune of 22.3% to Rs 21.12 crore in FY21 from Rs 27.18 crore in FY20.
