Bluepad, a vernacular content platform, has raised Rs 1.8 crore or $244K in pre-seed round led by Titan Capital and AngelList’s Syndicate.
According to the Bengaluru-based startup, the funds will be used to expand its team and strengthen tech capabilities. The firm will also focus on creating technological enhancements to ease content creation and provide value-added content for readers.
Founded by Sanjyot Bhosale, Devakrishna Asokar, and Kishore Garimella, Bluepad is a one-stop solution for aggregated content in vernacular languages for Indian users to read and post their own written content such as blogs, poems, stories, experiences in Indian vernacular languages and form communities with like-minded people.
Since its launch, around 15000 pieces of content have been published by users on the platform. Bluepad is positioning itself as a 'medium' for the non-English speaking population in India (aka Bharat users), focusing on Marathi.Currently available in Marathi, Hindi and English, the startup aims to launch in several other vernacular languages.
