Developer blogging community Hashnode has raised $6.7 million in its Series A round led by Salesforce Ventures. Sierra Ventures, Sequoia Capital India’s Surge and Accel Partner and a clutch of angels such as Naval Ravikant, Des Traynor, Guillermo Rauch and others have also participated in the round.
The funding will be used to continue to grow the platform’s user base, engineering and technology content, said Hashnode in a press release.
Started by Syed Fazle Rahman and Sandeep Panda, Hashnode is a free content creation platform and community that allows people to publish articles on their own domain and helps them stay connected with a growing developer community.
The startup claims to have grown from 100,000 monthly active users to one million in a year, hosting 60,000 active blogs. The startup is now looking at a B2B model considering enterprises as a significant buyer.
Being a part of Surge’s selected 17 startups for its fourth cohort, this is the second fundraised by Hashnode only after eight months from its previous seed round of $2.1 million led by the Sequoia’s startup accelerator program.
