Intercity mobility startup Zingbus has raised Rs 44.6 crore or close to $6 million in its pre-Series A round led by Infoedge Ventures in participation with Silicon Valley-based investors such as Founders Club, Pioneer Fund, Anim Fund, Locus Ventures, and Liquid 2 Ventures.

A clutch of angels including Joe Montana, Alan Rutledge, John Jersin, Ankur Nagpal and Harry Robertson also participated in the round.

The Mratunjay Beniwal, Ravi Kumar Verma and Prashant Kumar-led startup will utilise the funds for hiring across engineering, expanding product and enhancing its tech.

Zingbus aggregates fleets of buses to provide an end-to-end intercity travel service to its customers. The startup claims to have connected with over 100 cities and towns across the country and intends to run over 250 buses by the end of this year.

In March 2021, Zingbus raised an undisclosed amount of funding led by Y Combinator.

In intercity bus aggregating space, Zingbus competes with the likes of Yolobus, Railyatri and Orange Travels.
