Foodtech major Swiggy has elevated Phani Kishan to a co-founder role. Until recently, he was serving as Swiggy’s vice president of strategy and investments and associated with the company for more than six years.
With the inclusion of Kishan, Swiggy again will have three people in the co-founding team along with Sriharsha Majety and Nandan Reddy. It’s worth noting that Rahul Jaimini, co-founder and CTO of the company, had put in his papers last year to pursue another entrepreneurial venture.
“Kishan will be part of the management team and will be involved in “helping shape the company’s future on our dream to build India’s most loved customer brand and an enduring institution,” said Majety in a blog post.
The development comes on the heels of the resignation of Vivek Sunder, chief operating officer or the COO of Swiggy.
Swiggy’s arch-rival Zomato had also elevated its former chief financial officer Akriti Chopra as its chief people officer and co-founder of the business. Earlier, the IPO-bound company had elevated Gaurav Gupta Mohit Gupta as its co-founders.
