Email marketing software platform Mailmodo has raised $2 million in its seed round led by Sequoia Capital India’s Surge and Y Combinator with the participation of its existing investors.
The Aquibur Rahman, Apurv Gupta and Devyash Tandon-led startup will use the funds for product development and market expansion.
Mailmodo’s software converts the email space into an app-like interface using widgets and AMPs to provide businesses and marketers with a tool to get better conversions on email marketing.
The startup claims its clients which include edtech, fintech, e-commerce and SaaS companies have seen a 3X rise in conversion rates from using its platform as opposed to traditional templates.
Earlier this year, Mailmodo had raised a pre-seed round of $270K led by Titan Capital, First Cheque, Gameskraft and AngelList. It was also a part of Surge’s fifth cohort of 23 startups.
Mailchimp, Salesforce Email Studio, Zoho Campaigns and Freshworks CRM are top alternatives to Mailmodo.
