Outplay bags $7.3 Mn in Series A round

SMEs-focused sales engagement platform Outplay has bagged $7.3 million in its Series A round from Sequoia Capital India. The proceeds will be used to ramp up technology and hiring new talents.

This is the second funding for Outplay in 2021. In March, it had raised a $2 million seed round from Sequoia’s Surge. The startup was a part of the fourth cohort of Sequoia’s accelerator program Surge.

Led by Ram and Laxman Papineni, Outplay helps sales teams to plan, execute, track, measure and optimize interactions between companies and their prospects across various channels including email and texts.

The Bengaluru and Delaware-based startup charges $75 per user and claims over 300 customers. The platform’s combination of automation and personalisation helps teams start genuine conversations at scale, enabling them to see tasks on a single interface.

Globally, Outplay counts Outreach and SalesLoft as its major competitors.
