Digital solutions provider for freelancers, Protonn has raised $9 million in its seed round of funding led by Matrix Partners India, 021 Capital and Tanglin Venture Partners. Angel investors such as Binny Bansal, Kalyan Krishnamurthy and Kunal Shah have also participated.

According to the company, the fresh capital will be used in hiring more people, launching the product to market and for product development.

Started by former Flipkart executives Anit Goteti and Mausam Bhatt, the startup helps professionals to market and manage their small businesses using video marketing, scheduling, payments and CRM. It charges a flat monthly subscription per business owner.

The startup claims to create professional videos in minutes for its users that they can share on social networks and business prospects. It has launched its beta version on the iOS platform in the US and will soon launch its Android and web version in India.

The lead investor in this round, Matrix Partners India has invested in companies such as Ola, Dailyhunt, Mswipe, Razorpay and DealShare, among others.
