Funding in Indian startups this week (28 June-03 July)

This week 40 Indian startups raised funding, of which 30 received a total sum of about $471 million. Among them, Licious raised the highest funding of about $192 million, followed by WinZO, which raised $65 million.

Meanwhile, funding for 10 of the total funded startups remained undisclosed.

Below is the summary of deals closed this week

WinZO: Gaming company WinZO announced that it has raised $65 million in a Series C funding round led by California-based Griffin Gaming Partners, taking the total tally of capital raised by the Company to $90 million.

Cars24: Used car selling platform Cars24 has raised $13.5 million in a debt round from Trifecta Capital and the fresh infusion has come after seven months of the company’s $200 million equity round that made it the first unicorn in the used car space.

Licious: Direct-to-consumer fresh meat and seafood brand, Licious has raised $192 million as part of its Series F round led by Temasek and Multiples Private Equity. Since Entrackr had already reported Licious’s first tranche worth $65 million on June 11, the rest $127 million will be included in this week’s total funding amount.

Quizizz: Student engagement platform Quizizz has raised $31.5 million as part of its ongoing Series B funding round led by Tiger Global. Existing investors Nexus Venture Partners, GSV Ventures and Eight Roads Ventures also joined the round along with new backers including Yahoo co-founder Jerry Yang.

Treebo Hotels: Hotel brands Treebo Hotels has raised $16 million led by French hospitality giant Accor. Bennett Coleman & Company Limited (BCCL), Deepak Parayanken along with its existing investors, Elevation Capital, Matrix Partners, Bertelsmann, and Ward Ferry also participated.

Hypersonix: enterprise AI platform for commerce, Hypersonix has raised $35 million as part of its Series B funding round led by existing investor B Capital Group.

10club: E-commerce rollout company 10club has raised $40 million in its seed round co-led by Fireside Ventures and an undisclosed investor active in the space. The round also saw participation from HeyDay, PDS international, Class 5 Global, Secocha Ventures, boAt founders Aman Gupta and Sameer Mehta and several other global strategic investors.

FRAAZO: D2C brand in the fresh vegetables and fruits segment, FRAAZO has raised $11 million in its Series A round led by Sixth Sense Ventures. NABARD-backed NABVENTURES and existing investors Equanimity Ventures, Apar Group and others also participated.

Detect Technologies: Chennai-based Industrial AI startup Detect Technologies has raised $12 million in a funding round led by Accel Partners and Elevation Capital. Bharat Innovation Fund, BlueHill Capital, Axilor Ventures and others also participated.

LocoNav: Fleet management solutions company, LocoNav has raised $37 million in a Series B funding round led by Quiet Capital, Anthemis Group and Sequoia Capital India.

Loco: Video game streaming platform Loco has raised $9 million in its seed round led by Krafton, the distributor of PUBG in India and Lumikai, a gaming media fund. Hiro Capital, Axilor Ventures, 3one4 Capital and others also participated.

GoBolt: Logistics startup GoBolt has raised $20 million in its Series B round, led by Paragon Partners Growth Fund II. Existing investor Aavishkaar Capital also participated in the funding round.

ION Energy: Battery management platform ION Energy has raised $3.6 million in its pre-Series A funding led by Amazon’s Climate Pledge Fund.

Airblack: Online makeup and beauty learning platform, Airblack has raised $5.2 million in its Series A round led by Info Edge Ventures and Elevation Capital (previously SAIF Partners).

The Sleep Company: Direct-to-consumer mattress and furniture brand, The Sleep Company has raised $1.8 million in a pre-Series A funding round led by Fireside Ventures.

Slice: Fintech startup Slice has raised $20 million in equity funding from existing investors Gunosy and Blume Ventures at an undisclosed valuation. Since Entrackr had already reported Slice’s first tranche worth $15.5 million on June 3, only $4.5 million will be included in this week’s total funding amount.

Hesa: Rural tech startup Hesa has raised $2 million in its seed round led by Manish Modi of Mastermind Capital at Venture Catalysts (VCats) along with Accelerator Fund, 9Unicorns.

Nestroots: Home décor startup Nestroots has raised $100K or $0.1 million in a mix of equity and debt seed round led by We Founder Circle (WFC), a startup investment platform.

Meddo: Health-technology startup Meddo has closed a pre-Series A round at $6 million led by SRI Capital, Picus Capital and Alkemi Capital.

Gourmet Garden: Bengaluru-based fruits and vegetables brand Gourmet Garden has raised $3.3 million in its latest round led by Beyond Next Ventures, M Venture Partners.

Nua: Women’s hygiene brand Nua has raised $7.1 million in a funding round led by existing investor Lightbox Ventures.

CredR: Consumer brand for used motorcycles, CredR has raised $6.5 million in its latest round led by Yamaha Motors, and existing investors Omidyar Network India and Eight Roads Ventures with participation from automotive focused Astarc Ventures.

Supertails: Digital petcare startup Supertails has raised over $2.6 million in pre-Series A round led by Saama Capital and DSG Consumer Partners.

peAR: Deeptech computer vision and augmented reality (AR) specific startup peAR Technologies has raised $0.33 million in a pre-Series A1 round led by Inflection Point Ventures.

Raptee Energy: Chennai-based e-mobility startup Raptee Energy has raised $0.7 million in an angel round from several investors, predominantly HNIs and angels.

Nalanda Learning: Kolkata-based edtech startup Nalanda Learning Systems Pvt Ltd has raised $5.4 million from Aavishkaar Capital.

Auric: Ayurvedic health and wellness startup Auric has raised $2 million in a pre-Series-A round co-led by Venture Catalysts, Cactus Venture Partners, and 9Unicorns.

TABLT: Bharat focussed Online Pharmacy TABLT has raised $3 million in a Series A round from Siti Cable, a unit of Siti Network.

Knackit: Bengaluru-based Knackit has raised a seed funding round of $0.13 million from serial entrepreneur Jyoti Bansal.

Edmingle: Online teaching academy enabler, Edmingle has secured $0.3 million from Hyderabad-headquartered SucSEED Indovation Fund, Mumbai Angels and other angels.

Undisclosed deals this week

Instamojo, TyrePlex, Mobius, Prabhuji Online, Chargeup, Powerhouse91, Intervue, NIRAMAI, Humit and SpaceBasic did not disclose their financial details.
