Airblack raises $5.2 Mn led by InfoEdge and Elevation Capital

Online makeup and beauty learning platform, Airblack has raised $5.2 million in its Series A round led by Info Edge Ventures and Elevation Capital (previously SAIF Partners). Atelier Ventures and Better Capital, along with a clutch of angel investors including Kunal Shah, Vidit Aatrey and Sanjeev Barnwal also participated.

The fundraise will be utilized in accelerating the expansion of launching new clubs for users and investing in product, engineering and brand, said Airblack in a press release.

Founded by former Elevation Capital’s executives Pulkit Pujara and Videt Jaiswal, the startup helps people upskill and become micro-entrepreneurs in the beauty skilling market.

Started as a travel company, Airblack pivoted to the beauty segment after the pandemic brought the travel and hospitality industry to a standstill. It had raised $1.5 million seed capital from Elevation in August 2019.

According to the company, over 25,000 learners have attended its courses across more than 500 cities and it clocks over 45,000 hours of live classes every month.
