D2C lifestyle brand Zouk raises $1.5 Mn in pre-Series A round

D2C lifestyle brand Zouk has raised $1.5 million in its pre-Series A round of funding led by Stellaris Venture Partners and participated by Titan Capital and angels including, Manish Chowdhary, Manish and Karan Chowdhary.

According to the company, the funds will be used to expand into overseas markets such as the US, the Middle East, Canada and Europe strengthening its supply chain distribution and offerings. Zouk majorly deals in laptop bags, tote handbags, slings and chain wallets.

Its products are handmade by its in-house artisans. Importantly, Zouk claims to use 100% vegan leather sourced and manufactured in India.

Earlier this year, Zouk raised its seed round of funding led by Titan Capital and founders of Beardo and Mamaearth.

With the increasing awareness about the vegan lifestyle, Zouk is likely to gain ground in overseas markets more quickly than India. Unlike India and other markets, people in the US and West are embracing a vegan lifestyle to end the cruelty attached to animals.
