Funding in Indian startups this week (19 Apr-24 Apr)

This week 32 Indian startups raised funding, of which 24 received a total sum of about $561 million. Among them, Razorpay raised the highest funding of about $160 million followed by Druva, which raised around $147 million.

Meanwhile, funding for 8 of the total funded startups remained undisclosed.

Below is the summary of deals closed this week

Razorpay: Business-focused payment gateway and neo banking platform Razorpay has raised $160 million in its Series E round co-led by Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund GIC and Sequoia India.

CoinSwitch Kuber: Cryptocurrency investment platform CoinSwitch Kuber has scored $25 million in its Series B round from Tiger Global Management.

Chargebee: SaaS-based enterprise subscription billing and revenue operations platform Chargebee has raised $125 million in its Series G financing round led by Sapphire Ventures and existing investors Tiger Global and Insight Venture Partners.

Pristyn Care: Gurugram-based healthtech startup Pristyn Care has raised $53 million in its Series D round of funding led by Tiger Global Management.

Druva: Cloud data protection and management company Druva has raised $147 million in a new round led by Canada’s CDPQ and Neuberger Berman. Viking Global Investors and Atreides Management also participated in the round.

DealShare: Hyperlocal e-commerce startup DealShare has raised $9.5 million from venture debt firm Alteria Capital.

1mg: Healthtech company 1mg has raised $13.5 million in a debt round from Tata Digital.

Freyr Energy: Hyderabad-based rooftop solar startup Freyr Energy has raised $2.4 million in equity investment from Total Carbon Neutrality Ventures, Schneider Electric Energy Access Asia, and C4D Partners.

Fitterfly: Healthtech startup Fitterfly has raised $3.1 million (about Rs 22.5 crore) in a funding round led by venture capital firm Fireside Ventures.

Qapita: SaaS startup Qapita that provides ESOPs and cap table management solutions to private companies, has raised $5 million in a funding round led by MassMutual Ventures.

Optimized Electrotech: Venture Catalysts has led a $1.8 million round in defence-tech startup Optimized Electrotech. The round also saw existing backer GVFL and other angel investors.

Evo Foods: Plant-based egg company Evo Foods has raised $0.85 million in a pre-seed round.

ZFW Hospitality: Cloud kitchen platform ZFW Hospitality has raised close to $0.15 million from Mumbai Angels Network, California-based accelerator Expert DOJO and others.

Unbox Robotics: Bengaluru-based logistics automation startup Unbox Robotics has raised $1.2 million as a part of its pre-Series A round from BEENEXT, Karthik Bhat (through his syndicate on AngelList India) and others.

ixamBee: Online government exam preparation platform ixamBee has raised $0.3 million in a seed funding round co-led by JITO Angel Network and Mumbai Angels.

ORAI: Enterprise conversational AI platform ORAI has raised $0.5 million in a Pre-Series A round of funding from Inflection Point Ventures (IPV).

Smart Joules: Energy efficiency company Smart Joules has raised $4.9 million in funding from a clutch of investors, including Raintree Family Office.

MyDentalPlan: Bengaluru-based MyDentalPlan has secured a seed funding of $0.7 million from Safe Planet Medicare LLP.

FreeStand: Delhi-based FreeStand, which enables FMCG brands to deliver physical product samples to digitally targeted customers, has raised a seed round of $0.13 million led by SucSEED Indovation Fund.

Taikee: Mumbai-headquartered online B2B grocery e-commerce platform Taikee has raised $1.6 million from SME lending platforms.

TrulyMadly: Dating app TrulyMadly has raised $2.1 million in pre-Series A round from Venture Catalysts, 9 Unicorns and others.

Sirona Hygiene: Feminine hygiene products maker Sirona Hygiene has raised $3 million in Series A round from NB Ventures and IAN Fund.

Chara: Bengaluru-based deep-tech startup Chara has raised a seed round of $0.85 million led by Kalaari Capital, with participation from CIIE.CO.

Avni: We Founder Circle, a startup investment platform, has invested $0.07 million in Avni which focuses on menstrual care.

Undisclosed deals this week

Mailit, Malaki, 335bazaar, ChargeGrid, HealWell24, GoalTeller, Tarrakki and Vitra.ai.
