Funding in Indian startups this week (22 Mar-27 Mar)

This week 31 Indian startups raised funding, of which 26 received a total sum of about $656 million. Among them, Dream11 raised the highest funding of about $400 million in a secondary round followed by KreditBee, which raised around $70 million.

Meanwhile, funding for 5 of the total funded startups remained undisclosed.

Below is the summary of deals closed this week

KreditBee: Digital lending platform KreditBee has raised an additional $70 million in a follow-on Series C round from TPG-backed NewQuest Capital Partners and Motilal Oswal Private Equity.

Purplle: Online beauty and cosmetics selling platform Purplle has secured $45 million from Sequoia Capital India, Verlinvest, Blume Ventures, and JSW Ventures in what appears to be a Series D round for the Mumbai-based startup.

Dream11: Dream Sports, the parent entity of fantasy sports platform Dream11, has scooped up $400 million in a secondary round led by TCV, D1 Capital Partners and Falcon Edge.

Public App: Location-based social network Public App has raised $41.3 million led by A91 Partners with participation from existing investors.

Dot: Offline to online commerce and payments platform Dot has scooped up $27.5 million in a new round led by the global payment gateway giant PayU.

Mobikwik: Digital payments platform Mobikwik has raised $7.2 million in what appears to be a funding round for the Gurugram-based company before going for an initial public offering.

Velocity: Fintech startup Velocity has raised $10.3 million in seed funding led by Peter Thiel-backed Valar Ventures.

Bombay Shaving Company: D2C brand Bombay Shaving Company has raised $2.08 million from existing investor Sixth Sense Ventures.

CityMall: Social commerce platform CityMall has raised $11 million in Series A funding led by Accel. Elevation Capital and WaterBridge Ventures also participated in the funding round.

Rupifi: Fintech platform Rupify has raised $4.1 million in a pre-Series A funding round led by Quona Capital.

Cancer Clinics: Hyderabad-based cancer care platform Cancer Clinics has raised $1.5 million funding led by Axilor Ventures.

Masai School: Edtech startup Masai School has raised $5 million in the series-A round from clutch investors led by Omidyar Network India and others.

FloBiz: Billing and accounting app FloBiz has raised $10 million in a Series A round led by Elevation Capital.

ExtraaEdge: Admissions and marketing technology startup, ExtraaEdge has raised $1 million in a pre-Series A round from Pentathlon Ventures and existing investors Sprout Venture Partners and TiE Pune Angels.

ReshaMandi: Agritech startup digitising India’s silk supply chain, ReshaMandi has raised $1.7 million in a seed funding round led by Omnivore and Strive Ventures.

True Balance: Fintech startup True Balance has raised $10 million in debt funding from a group of investors.

Janani: Healthtech startup Janani has raised seed funding of $1.1 million in a round led by Venture Catalysts.

Bidgely: Software-as-a-service startup Bidgely has raised $2.08 million as part of its latest fundraise from IvyCap Ventures.

Voiro: Bengaluru-based SaaS startup Voiro has raised $1.8 million in a pre-Series-A round led by Mela Ventures. Early-stage VC fund and angel platform 1Crowd also participated in the round.

Zotalabs: Pune-based online learning startup Zotalabs has raised $0.12 million in its seed funding round.

Happy Jars: Delhi-based food brand offering natural peanut butter, Happy Jars, has raised $0.4 million in its seed round led by Inflection Point Ventures.

SkilloVilla: Bengaluru-based edtech platform SkilloVilla has raised $0.3 million in a seed round of funding from Titan Capital and other investors.

Jeevam Health: Healthtech startup Jeevam Health has raised $0.15 million from Y Combinator in a pre-seed round.

Muvin: Neobanking platform muvin, owned by FinOne Technologies, has raised a seed round of $1 million.

NeoDove: Jaipur-based sales and marketing automation platform for SMEs, NeoDove has raised $1.5 million in seed funding led by India Quotient.

Tilt: Bike rental startup Tilt has raised $0.12 million from Y Combinator and an additional undisclosed round from a set of angels.

Undisclosed deals this week

Anar, Homingos, Reevoy, Instoried and Sepal did not disclose their financial details.
