Funding in Indian startups this week (28 Sep-03 Oct)

This week 16 Indian startups raised funding, of which 13 received a total sum of about $76 million. Among them, Inshorts raised the highest funding of about $35 million followed by Smallcase, which raised $14 million.

Meanwhile, funding for 3 of the total funded startups remained undisclosed.

Below is the summary of deals closed this week

Livspace: Online home decor startup Livspace has received $4 million in a debt funding round from its existing backer Trifecta Venture Debt.

Inshorts: Former Tiger Global executive Lee Fixel’s new venture capital firm ‘Addition’ has led a $35 million funding round in news media startup Inshorts.

SquadStack: Software-as-a-service (Saas)-based sales acceleration startup SquadStack, formerly known as SquadRun, has secured $5 million in its Series A round led by Chiratae Ventures.

Smallcase: Investment startup Smallcase has secured $14 million ~ Rs 99 crore in its Series B funding round led by DSP Group. Existing backers Sequoia Capital India, Blume Ventures, Beenext and WEH Ventures also participated.

Etrio: Hyderabad-based EV startup Etrio has raised $3 million in a Series A round from a group of undisclosed high net worth individuals.

Financepeer: Zero cost EMI based school fee financing platform, Financepeer has raised $3 million in a funding round led by MS Fincap. Danube, Aar Em Ventures, Angelbay Holdings, JITO Angel Network, and HEM Angels also participated.

Sunstone Eduversity: Edtech startup Sunstone Eduversity has raised $3.25 million in Series A round led by Saama Capital with participation from existing investors Prime Venture Partners and others.

StayQrious: Bengaluru-based edtech startup StayQrious has raised $2 million in a seed funding round led by some of the leading early-stage investors.

Infilect: Bengaluru-based software-as-a-service (SaaS) startup Infilect has raised $1.5 million in pre-series A round led by Mela Ventures and 1Crowd along with participation from The Chennai Angles.

GPS Renewables: Bengaluru-based cleantech startup GPS Renewables has raised $3 million in a Series A funding led by Netherlands based Hivos-Triodos Fund and Hyderabad-based Caspian.

Legal Salah: Kolkata-based legaltech startup Legal Salah has raised $1 million in a seed funding round led by I2I Capitals.

EduGorilla: Edtech startup EduGorilla has raised $0.72 million from SEBI – Cat 1 Angel Fund – Auxano Entrepreneur Fund and a group of angels led by Venture Garage –SucSEED Venture Partners, Pune Angels, Hem Angels and VG Angels.

Maatri: Digital health platform Maatri has raised $0.3 million from high-net-worth individuals.

Oga Fit,  7Classes and Codeyoung did not disclose their financial details.
