Funding in Indian startups this week (13 July-18 July)

This week 16 Indian startups raised funding, of which 12 received a total sum of about $125 million. Among them, Vedantu raised the highest funding of about $100 million followed by Magicpin, which raised $7 million.

Meanwhile, funding for 4 of the total funded startups remained undisclosed.

Below is the summary of deals closed this week

Vedantu: Edtech firm Vedantu has scored $100 million in its Series D round led by New York-based hedge fund Coatue Management at a valuation of $600 million. According to the company’ press statement, existing investors — Tiger Global, GGV Capital, Westbridge and Omdidyar — also participated in the fresh financing round.

Magicpin: Hyperlocal discovery platform, Magicpin has raised $7 million in a funding round from Samsung Venture Investment Corporation.

Procol: B2B agricultural commodities buying platform, Procol has raised $3.8 million in a round led by Sequoia’s Surge. Singapore-based Beenext has also joined the round with existing backer Blume Ventures.

Crio: Learning platform for developers, Crio has secured $0.9 million in a pre-Series A funding round from Binny Bansal-backed 021 Capital. This is the second fundraise by the two-year-old startup.

Mitron: Short video app, Mitron has raised $2 million in what appears to be a Pre-Series A round led by Nexus Venture Partners.

Plum: Bengaluru-based health-tech startup, Plum has raised $0.9 million in a seed funding round led by Incubate Fund. Gemba Capital, Tracxn Labs, and marquee angel investors- Abhijit Gupta, Ram Sahasranam, Nitin Jayakrishnan, and Alvin Tse also participated.

FLYX: Social network platform, FLYX has raised $0.2 million in a pre-seed round led by Raj Mishra, Chairman, and founder, AIT Global Inc.

Incnut Digital: Media and e-commerce startup, Incnut Digital has raised $4 million in a Series A funding round led by RPSG Ventures.

goDutch: Financial technology startup focussed on group payments, GoDutch has raised $1.7 million in a seed funding round led by Matrix Partners India.

Yumlane: Mumbai-based cloud kitchen platform, Yumlane has raised $1 million in a new funding round led by Singapore-based Jetty Ventures.

Mystifly: Travel-technology and payment services company, Mystifly has raised $3.3 million in pre-Series B funding round from existing investor Recruit Holdings.

Openapp: Internet-of-things security solutions startup Openapp, has raised $0.5 million from early-stage investment firm Unicorn India Ventures.

Undisclosed deals this week

6Degree, uFony, Uable and Walrus did not disclose their financial details.
