Funding in Indian startups this week (12 Aug-17 Aug)

This week 18 Indian startups raised funding, of which 14 received a total sum of about $352 million. Among them, Meesho closed the highest funding of $125 million followed by ShareChat which raised $100 million.

Meanwhile, funding for 4 of the total funded startups remained undisclosed.

Below is the summary of deals closed this week:

ShopKirana: B2B e-commerce platform ShopKirana has raised $10 million in series B funding round from Info Edge, Incubate Fund, Akatsuki AET Fund, NPTK Emerging Asia Fund, and Better Capital.

Emotix: Emotix, the technology company which makes the companion robot Miko has raised around $7.5 million in its Series A round led by its existing investors Chiratae Ventures and YourNest Venture Capital.

Uniphore: Speech recognition startup Uniphore has scored $51 million worth Series C round led by California-based venture capital firm March Capital Partners. Sistema Asia, CXO Fund, ITP, Chiratae Ventures Iron Pillar, Patni Family, among others also participated in the round.

Rupeek: Online gold loan platform Rupeek has raked in $30 million funding round led by Bertelsmann India Investments.

Meesho: Social commerce startup Meesho has clsosed $125 Series D round led by Naspers. Existing investors including Shunwei Capital, RPS Ventures, SAIF Partners, and Venture Highway. Arun Sarin, ex-CEO of Vodafone Group also participated in the round.

ShareChat: Indian social networking platform ShareChat has finished its Series D funding round led by social media giant Twitter, raising around $100 million in an equity financing round.

Blu Smart: E-mobility startup Blu Smart has raised $2.2 million in a funding round led by Jito Angel Network along with Hero MotoCorp, MayField Fund and Centrum, and Micromax also participated.

SprintAI: Reatail AI startup SprintAI has raised $0.5 million from InMobi Group co-founder Piyush Shah along with angel investors including CS Suryanarayanan, ex-MD at Levis; Deepinder Singh, ex-CPO, MuSigma also participated in the round.

Talview: HRtech startup Talview has raised $6.75 million in series A round from Storm Ventures, Inventus Capital, Eileses Capital, and Emergent Ventures. The company will deploy the funds to strengthen its AI capabilities and expand globally.

Clicbrics: Retail estate marketplace Clicbrics has raised $3 million in pre-series A round led by Manny Singh, founder of Kavi Fund along with Fund Manager at Gluskin Sheff and Peter Mann also participated in the round.

Doxper: Prescription digitiser Doxper has raised $4 million in series A round led by healthcare-focused fund Alkemi Venture Partners along with Rainforest Venture Network, growX Ventures and some angel investors.

Aye Finance: Micro financial service provider Aye Finance has scooped up $10 million in debt from responsAbility Investments AG.

Orbo: AI startup Orbo has raised $1.6 million in pre-Series A round from Vinod Dham.

Parentof: Bengaluru-based AI startup Parentof has raised $1 million in a seed funding round led by V Srinivas and existing investors.

Undisclosed deals this week

Cars24, GetNatty, Tjori, and Faircent did not disclose their financial details on funding.
