Funding in Indian startups this week (01 July-06 July)

This week 19 Indian startups received funding, of which 15 received a total sum of about $340 million. Among them, Ola Electric raised the highest funding of $250 million followed by Uniphore which raised about $38 million.

Meanwhile, funding for 4 of the total funded startups remained undisclosed.

Below is the summary of deals closed this week:

Ola Electric: Ola electric subsidiary, Ola Electric has picked a $250 million in Series B round from Softbank Vision Fund at a valuation of $1 billion.

Uniphore: Speech recognition startup Uniphore has scored $38 worth Series C round led by led by California-based venture capital firm March Capital Partners.

Daalchini: Instant-home food via IoT-enabled vending machines provider, Daalchini has picked up $0.5 million in a seed funding round from Artha Ventures and few angels like Amit Lakhoitia (ex-Paytm, ex-Tokopedia), Anand Ladsariya (MD, Everest Flavours).

Meddo: Launched by former Foodpanda India CEO, tech platform focused on doctors, patients and clinics, Meddo has raised about $1.4 million from a host of angel investors.

MedTrail: Healthcare service platform MedTrail has raised $0.91 million in an equity and venture round led by GREE Ventures (Strive). LetsVenture, Times Internet’s Miten Sampat,  Jamil Khatri, a Partner at KPMG, and Diverse Middle East FZE also participated.

Ola: Cab aggregator Ola has picked up $11 million more in its ongoing Series J round of about $472 million. DIG Investment Ab, Deshe Holdings, and individual investors Samih Toukan and Hussam Khoury(co-founders of Jabbar Internet Group) have participated in this round.

Bounce: Soon after raising $72 million Series C round, scooter rental platform Bounce has raised $1.4 million in venture debt round from Sachin Bansal’s BAC Acquisitions.

SuperZop: SIDBI Venture Capital and CIIE Initiatives have invested $1.1 million in pre-series A funding round in B2B agriculture commerce platform SuperZop with participation from angel investor Gurumurthy Raman.

Freight Tiger: B2B logistics tech startup – Freight Tiger – has raised $8 million in Series A funding round led by Lightspeed Venture Partners. Dalmia Group’s Alsthom Industries and Hero Group’s MD Pawan Munjal Family Trust also participated in the round.

mfine: Bengaluru-based healthtech startup mfine has picked up $4.4 million of venture debt from Alteria Capital. Earlier, it had raised $17.2 million Series B round in April.

Atlan: Data collaboration platform Atlan has raised $2.5 million in Series A funding from WaterBridge Ventures with participation of an existing investors – Ratan Tata and Rajan Anandan.

Propelld: Fintech startup Propelld that allow students to take education loans, has raised $2.1 million from Stellaris Venture Partners and India Quotient with participation from an existing investor India Angel Network.

Gizmobaba: Mumbai-based gadgets and accessories startup Gizmobaba has raised an investment of $0.25 million in a pre-Series A funding round from LetsVenture.

RenewBuy: Gurugram-based insurance tech startup RenewBuy has secured $19 million in Series B funding round from Lok Capital, IIFL AMC and existing investors.

Caymus Technology: Mumbai-based skilling platform, Caymus Technology has raised $0.17 million in an angel round that saw participation from technology leader Rob Solomon along with angel investors from India and US.

Undisclosed deals this week

Peebuddy,  ToBeHealthy, Intugine Technologies and Sepal did not disclose their financial details on funding.
