After peer pressure from the government, Twitter has finally filled the seven-month-long vacated post of Managing Director for India. Manish Maheshwari, former CEO of Network18 Digital has joined as India's head.
Twitter has been scouting for India's head since the departure of Taranjeet Singh who quit the company in September 2018. The Jack Dorsey-led company was also under scanner over spreading fake news and pushing false propaganda by nuisance ahead of General election in India.
Maheswari will lead Twitter India's strategy and execution to accelerate audience and revenue growth in one of the company's top markets worldwide, reflects a post by microblogging site's Vice President of APAC region - Maya Hari.
