Professionals with AI skillsets in machine learning, cloud computing, NLP and chatbots are highly in demands and getting a handsome remuneration in the jobs market.
Even entry-level jobs for AI professionals are offered more perks and salary than a computer science graduate, who gets around Rs 3-4 lakh.
An AI professional with experience more than 8 years are offered annual packages between Rs 50 lakh-1 crore, as per recruitment firms. They are also getting over 60 per cent hike while switching jobs as the Indian market has less number of AI professionals.
In India, there are about 40,000 AI professionals, according to a report by Great Learning. The average AI experience is merely three years in the country.
The highest demand is for professionals with skills in natural language processing and generation, image-based analytics, chatbots, and machine learning, noted an ET report.
With the advent of AI, every company is looking to implement the technology in its processes. However, there is a huge dearth of proven talent. Many companies are hiring talents from abroad or roping in someone with skillsets on freelance basis.
A few of the companies due to non-availability of talents have their positions lying vacant for months. While the dearth of AI talents might be a problem for firms, it is an opportunity for young talents to make it big.
