Travel tech startup Guiddoo has raised around Rs 6 crore in its extended pre-Series A round from individual investors such as Singapore-based Rennie Ratadia Dubai-based Stephen Dmello and Angshuman Sarkar from India.
In June, last year, Guiddoo had scooped up $300K in pre-Series A funding from a bunch of individual investors and raised an undisclosed seed round in 2015.
The Mumbai-based travel experience provider will use the fresh capital to ramp up its technology, expand operations, add more destination and increase its product portfolio.
Besides, the startup also aims to enter the Chinese market by February next year.
Launched in 2014 by Nidhi Varma, Prashant Choudhary, Biswajeet Karmakar and Vineet Budki as a tour guiding app, Guiddoo pivoted last year into an in-destination platform offering tours and activities, dining, shopping and entertainment as add-ons to the Indian international traveller.
Having more than 4,500 travel agent partners, Guiddoo offers targeted experiences with content across 15 international destinations. In India, it is present in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan.
The company claims to have handled over 30,000 customers with 60,000 plus activities since inception across its destinations. Besides Android and iOS platforms, it also runs B2C- and B2B-focused web platforms.
Of late, another player in this segment Tripoto was in talks to raise fresh funds. Other competitors include TripHobo, HolidayIQ in India and Vayable and Advenjo globally.
