Verloop, a SaaS-based automated customer support, and engagement platform has raised $3 million in its Series A round of funding led by IDFC Parampara Fund. The Bengaluru-based startup also saw participation from Infosys' Kris Gopalakrishnan and Manipal Education and Medical Group's Ranjan Pai.
The latest proceeds will be deployed towards enhancing the platform besides expanding its team size and scaling operations.
Launched in 2016, Verloop enables companies to automate high-touch points relating to customers. Verloop bots build user profiles, personalise conversations with users, answers queries they may have and try to make the customer engagement meaningful and successful.
Promoted by GrowthStory, Verloop.io is a language-agnostic platform that already supports 7 Indian languages including Hindi, English, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Marathi, Bengali and Hinglish.
The platform claims to have worked with over 5,000 clients across e-commerce, healthcare, education, entertainment & lifestyle sectors in 37 countries.
The platform's use-cases include marketing & sales, customer support, and celebrity Brand management among others. It engages with 50 million customers each day.
In November 2016, the startup had raised an undisclosed seed fund from Anand Chandrasekaran, Mohandas Pai, Suresh Vaswani, Gopalakrishnan Growth Story, and Ganesh Krishnan.
A part of Y Combinator Startup School 2017, Verloop's customers include Rajnikanth's Thalaivaa, Portea, Pipa Bella, Nykaa, Livpure, Apollo Munich Health Insurance, Abhibus, and Aadhaar Bridge.
In conversation AI market, Verloop competes with global players such as Drift, HubSpot, Conversica, Intercom, and several others.
