With $1.5 Mn fresh fund Yebhi co-founder announces new gig Hospals

Danish Amhed–co-founder of fashion e-commerce platform Yebhi and Ex-VP at Paytm has floated his new venture in the field of medical tourism. In his new startup called Hospals, Danish will have two other co-founders–Obaid and Alok.

Obaid and Alok have earlier led as CEO and COO at Al-Shifa, a medical tourism company.

For Danish, Hospals will be his third venture after Yebhi and Shopsity. The later was acquihired by Paytm.

Moreover, Hospals has also brought Spiral Venture and Venture Catalysts on its board of investors that have led $1.5 million round in the newly unveiled venture. The company would be using the funds to accelerate its growth towards $10m GMV by the year end and make a revenue of $20 million in the next 12 months.

Hospals was incubated at Technology9labs and has rapidly expanded across CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) countries.

The firm enables medical tourists visiting India to choose hospitals, book consultations, surgeries, and buy medicines besides managing their various travel and accommodation requirements such as cabs, hotels, and flights etc.

Hospals’ auxiliary services section provides estimates of medical procedures, visa service, and translators.

With the initial capital, Hospals will be focusing on building a one-stop shop for international patients, connecting them to the best hospitals, providing long stay accommodations and other services, said the company’s press statement.

Hospals claims to manage over 200 patients per month and till date it has served over 6,000 patients from 14 countries with its marketplace model.
