Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) backed pharmacy Deen Dayal Dham will now sell cow urine and related therapeutic products on Amazon.
Initially, it plans to sell 30 products on the e-tailer platform.
"Products of our Kamdhenu line that have cow urine among the main ingredients, and kurtas and other khadi products will be available on Amazon soon,” Manish Gupta, deputy secretary of the Dham was quoted by TOI.
The Mathura-based centre will also sell Khadi apparels such as Modi and Yogi kurtas (based on PM Narendra Modi and UP CM Yogi Adityanath). These kurtas will cost around Rs 220 a piece.
The pharmacy, which has around 10 workers looking after 90 cows, primarily collects urine and dung from the cows in their shed and use them in their products.
Till date, the products were sold at the Dham or RSS camps. The products are reported to be priced between Rs 10 and Rs 230.
The centre makes 4 lakh monthly from products and apparels.
The purpose of selling products online is to create more jobs and financial independence for more people. If sales take off online, production and jobs will need to be increased, said Arun Kumar, RSS spokesperson.
At present, the tailoring wing of the centre employs about 35-40 women, each woman earns 120 a day for stitching two pairs of apparels.
The centre was established 38 years ago, to mainly give occupation to local people.
