Online food delivery giant Swiggy failed to process and deliver orders on Sunday night across Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Delhi. After facing the ire of users across social media platforms, it put the blame on a technical glitch.
"Hi there! As you may have noticed, we are facing a technical issue due to which we're unable to process orders on time. We're fixing this ASAP. Apologies for keeping you waiting,” Swiggy tweeted via its official Twitter account.
Some users waited for more than 2 hours to get their orders delivered but they never came.
@swiggy_in : The end of 2hrs of wait/chat for undelivered food is "..Please allow us 24 hours. I have escalated the issue, please wait for 24 hours.." #WorstCompanyEver

Even restaurant owners took to Twitter to complain and said that though the food was packed and ready for more than 1 hour, they didn’t see any delivery person arriving to fetch the order.

Besides the technical glitch, it appears to be a problem of logistics as well. Even at this hour, users are complaining on Twitter against late delivery of food from Swiggy.
Zomato too seemed to be facing delivery issues last night. Like Swiggy, users listed complaints against Zomato as well on Twitter.
Hello Team, my order number is 1499287192. After confirmation of the order and further change of order status to "on its way", they've cancelled the order stating distance. I've shared a mail too,pl check.#zomatoindia #worstdeliveryservice

Late delivery of food by these platforms appears to be common. Every hour, users can be found describing their ordeal with the online food delivery platforms on social media sites.
