Crowdfunding platform for filmmakers & creative artist, Wishberry has raised Rs 10 crores in Series A funding led by Reliance Big Entertainment, Dr. Sunil Patil, director of Scrabble Entertainment and 3one4 Capital.
One of the rare startups in the niche, Wishberry will use the fresh capital infusion to expand the team. The startup also plans to finance 10 films this year for producing under the crowd-financing model.
The Mumbai-based startup was founded by Priyanka Agarwal and Anshulika Dubey in 2012. It focusses on all sectors, including film, music, theatre, technology and social entrepreneurship.
Importantly, the platform commits to support low-budget cinema by launching a film financing platform www.wishberryfilms.in.
Wishberry Films claims to invest, produce, market & distribute films with universal and regional stories from India in future. It also eyes helping HNIs discover and invest in such films.

Wishberry had raised a seed round of funding of Rs 4 crore in 2015 and bagged an undisclosed amount in Pre-Series A funding from a clutch of investors led by iSPIRT co-founder Sharad Sharma, Rajan Anandan (Google), Amit Ranjan (SlideShare), Alok Mittal (IAN), Venkat S Raju (Kyron Global) and others on LetsVenture also participated in the round.
So far, the company has raised Rs 11.6 crore (excluding this round) on the platform from over 400 projects.
Apart from Wishberry, Impact Guru, LetsVenture, Milaap, Ketto, and FundMyPitch are some notable crowdfunding platforms catering to a gamut of genres.
