Of late, Oyo has been on an expansion spree. The company seems to be quick in expanding into complementary verticals relating core to its business. After foraying into a co-living segment with ‘Oyo Living’, it started a separate vertical – Auto Party By Oyo.
The platform weeds out a significant pain of communication and negotiations required while planning a wedding, party or conference that involves a slew of pre and post planning.
Auto Party By Oyo (link) offers services that cover full stack wedding planning right from banquet to catering, decoration, DJ, cocktail parties amongst several others. Currently, its live in six cities including Delhi (NCR), Mumbai, Bengaluru, Jaipur, and Lucknow.
Besides the wedding, corporates/startups or individuals can also leverage Auto Party to plan events and shows. The service is available across all categories offered by Oyo including Townhouse, and Oyo Homes. It has different slabs starting from Rs 399 per person.
Recently, Entrackr has exclusively reported about company’s foray into co-living space with Oyo Living. The new platform offers fully-furnished rooms and includes facilities like housekeeping, fully equipped kitchens, and WiFi.
Oyo Living is charging Rs 18,000 per month for a private room while twin sharing costs Rs 10,000. With this, the company directly competes with NestAway, StayAbode, and Ziffy Homes amongst a slew of others.
So far, the company raised about $250 million from investors including SoftBank and Hero Enterprise. It pivoted from aggregation to a pure-play franchise model in December last year.
Presently, OYO claims to operate 8,500 hotels and 70,000 rooms in more than 230 cities in India. The company had recently started operations in Dubai and China. Entrackr had exclusively reported its launch in both countries.
Entry of OYO into the wedding and other events planning space is an interesting move. Since hosting events require a lot of time and efforts, Auto Party By Oyo appears to be a relevant solution for people hosting celebrations across mid-sized properties.
