Funding in Indian startups this week (25 June-30 June)

This week 13 startups received funding, of which 11 received a total sum of about $280 million. Among them, PolicyBazaar raised the highest investment of $236 million, followed by SigTuple which raised about $19 million.

Meanwhile, funding for two of the total funded startups remained undisclosed.

List of disclosed funding deals this week

Sqrrl: Personal finance buddy Sqrrl raised $1 million from Equanimity Venture Fund. The Gurugram-based startup will deploy the funds to ramp up its technologies through machine learning and artificial intelligence.

SigTuple: Artificial Intelligence-based health tech startup SigTuple has raised $19 million in its Series B round led by Accel Partners and IDG Ventures. Existing investors also participated in the round.

ZunRoof: Rooftop solar installation startup ZunRoof has raised about $0.25 million in its angel round of funding from i3N, Paipal Ventures’ Ajith Pai, Gaurav Gupta, Asia Director, Dalbergr and a bunch of IIT Kharagpur alumni based in the US.

PolicyBazaar: Online insurance aggregator PolicyBazaar has joined the coveted club of a ‘Unicorn’ in India. The Gurugram-based company has raised around $236 million in its Series F round led by SoftBank.

Edureka: Edtech startup Edureka has raised $2 million from venture fund Leo Capital India. This is the first round of funding for the Bengaluru-based startup, which has been running on bootstrap funding.

Cashify: Consumer-facing online platform to buy used gadgets Cashify has raised $12 million round led by Beijing-based alternative asset management firm CDH Investments and VC cum PE firm Morningside Ventures.

WOW Express: E-commerce logistics startup WOW Express has raised $4.5 million in its Series A funding from Tamarind Family Private Trust and the family office of the Mansukhanis (promoters of Onida).

Aahaa Stores: Online office supplies platform Aahaa Stores has raised $1 million in the second round of pre-series A funding led by YourNest Angel Fund.

Picostone: Mumbai-based smart home automation startup Picostone has raised $0.8 million in funding.

HipBar: Chennai-based alcohol payment and delivery startup HipBar has raised around $4 million from Diageo India.

Eggoz: Egg producer and agri-tech startup Eggoz has raised $0.17 million from a clutch of angel investors including Narendra Sankar, Sunil Mishra, Vishal Sharma, Anurag Jhanwar and Mohini Jhanwar.

Undisclosed deals this week:

CRM and Marketing Automation startup Hashtag Loyalty and HRtech startup Spotle.ai did not disclose their financial details.
