Edtech startup Disprz, which provides products for the enterprise and online learning segment, has raised $2.5 million in Series A round from IL&FS Private Equity and existing investor Kae Capital. Kae had invested an undisclosed amount in the Chennai-based startup in January last year.
The software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform will use the fresh proceeds money to ramp up its data science capabilities and to expand operations to overseas markets.
Founded in 2105 by Subramanian Viswanathan (CEO) and Kuljit Chadha, Disprz was rechristened from its earlier avatar Learntron in July last year. It is focused on helping enterprises achieve more business impact by enabling their workforce to integrate knowledge into their daily work.
Disprz aims to make the workforce more knowledgeable, productive and smarter by leveraging technology paradigms like social, mobile, cloud and analytics.
The startup provides a multilingual app that managed to gather clients in the US in early days. With the fresh capital infusion, it plans to go deeper into the US market.
Last year, Disprz was selected amongst Oracle’s first cohort of startups for its Startup Cloud Accelerator program in Mumbai.
Mumbai-based early stage investor Kae Capital had closed its second fund with a corpus of $53 million, exceeding the initial target of $40 million in September 2017. The firm has invested in notable startups such as 1mg, Fynd, InMobi, Myntra, ZipDial HalaPlay and several others.
In April, Kae infused an undisclosed sum in peer to peer business loan marketplace startup Loanzen.
