This week in Indian Startups funding news (26-31 March)

This week 14 startups received funding, of which 12 received a total sum of about $23 million. Among them, Smaaash raised the highest investment of $6 million, followed by USPL, which raised about $4.6 million.

Meanwhile, funding for two of the total funded startups remained undisclosed.

Smaaash: A sports-based entertainment and gaming company has Raised $6 million (Rs 40 crore) from a clutch of HNIs include Ravi Modi, Vijaylaxmi Poddar, and others.

SmartCoin: Microlending platform SmartCoin has bagged $2 million in pre-series A round led by Chinese VC fund and Accion Venture Lab. Besides, existing investors like Unicorn India Ventures and ISME ACE, an unnamed Chinese venture fund also participated in the round.

Milkbasket: Subscription-based micro delivery platform Milkbasket has raised about $3 million in a fresh round from Kalaari Capital.

DriveU: On-demand private driver service DriveU has raised $3 million in pre-Series A funding round led by Singhal Foundation, a non-profit organisation founded by Amit Singhal.

The Print: Veteran journalist Shekhar Gupta-led multimedia news platform – The Print has raised $0.5 million (Rs 3.49 crore) from its existing investor Ratan Tata in an extended seed round.

Cash Suvidha: Micro-lender platform Cash Suvidha has secured $1 million from Initia Holdings, Vipin Agarwal, and others in a pre-Series A round.

The Ken: Subscription-based online media publication, The Ken has raised $0.22 million (Rs 1.47 crore) from a set of new angel investors.

Myra: Bengaluru-based Metarain Software Solutions Pvt. Ltd, which runs online pharmacy app Myra, has raised about $1.84 million (Rs 12 crore) in a fresh round.

Survaider: Bengaluru-based customer engagement platform Survaider has received $0.27 million (Rs 1.8 crore) from Axilor Ventures, Pratithi Trust, and The Chennai Angels in a seed round.

FactorDaily:  Bengaluru-based digital news and media startup has secured $0.1 million (Rs 76 Lakhs) from existing investors, Vijay Shekhar Sharma and Girish Mathrubootham in an extended Series A round.

USPL: Former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar-backed celebrity fashion company Universal Sportsbiz (USPL) has raised $4.6 million (Rs 30 crore) in debt from Alteria Capital.

Planys Technologies: It has raised $0.15 million (Rs 99 lakhs) from Oil and Natural Gas Corporation as a part of Series A round.

Undisclosed deals this week:

Fashion e-commerce platform Fynd and Fintech startup Creditas Solutions did not disclose their deal amount.
