Caller ID service platform Truecaller has announced that it is slated to introduce a slew of new features such as Number Scanner, Scan & Pay and Fast Track numbers on its platform.
Truecaller’s Number Scanner will allow users to scan a number directly from business cards, websites, street signs, or anywhere, eliminating the process of manual entry in the contacts list.
“We want to enable our users to have the proper resources to receive relevant information quickly digitally and in their surrounding physical environment,” stated the Truecaller blog.
Besides, the Scandinavian platform has also introduced Scan & Pay, which will let users scan a number and pay directly using Truecaller Pay. According to the company, this is a more convenient way of sending quick payments as opposed to scanning QR codes.
“When you see an important phone number, you can directly pull it into your phone with the app and use it in seconds to connect or make a payment,” said Narayan Babu, Director, Product and Engineering, Truecaller, in a statement.
In March this year, Truecaller had announced a partnership ICICI Bank for UPI-based mobile payment service. Called Truecaller Pay allows users to instantly create a UPI id, send money to any UPI id or a mobile number registered with the BHIM app, ICICI Bank said in a statement.
The Fast Track numbers is another feature which Truecaller has announced to launch in the country. The service integrates toll-free emergency numbers for services like police, fire, medical care, women’s helpline, roadside assistance as well as other essential categories to provide accessibility without internet connection.
“During critical moments, you can reach out to the right company, person or service with a single tap with Fast track numbers,” Babu added.
Located in the search bar, the inbuilt contacts will help users make phone calls at critical moments with a single tap.
