Ecommerce platform Paytm’s new avatar Paytm Mall has launched Campus Icon, a programme which avails Industry-focussed learning to college students. As a part of this six-week programme, student participants will be assigned variety of tasks that would enhance their skills.
Paytm Mall, a mobile app and online shopping portal stated that its leadership will also mentor students on critical real-world techniques related to product, marketing, design among others via seminars and training material, the company said in a statement to The Economic Times. The statement also said that the top performers of the programme would be awarded internships and full-time job offers.
Amit Sinha, chief operating officer, Paytm Mall said to ET, “Our initiative will provide a unique opportunity to college goers to harness their skills from a young age and showcase their talent."
Last month partnering with Intel, Paytm Mall has launched ‘Back to College’ a four-day electronics Sale by gathering essential gadgets for college students in one place. The sale aimed at making it easier for parents to check off their ward’s wish list ahead of college at the most affordable price.
The sale also came out with some data that India has over 700 universities and more than 37,000 affiliated colleges with more than 20 million students. The wide variety of electronic items available on Paytm Mall combined with the fast delivery options has made it the go-to destination for students looking for a value-driven online shopping experience.
Paytm Mall is planning to reach out to over 10,000 students and inviting applications from across colleges. And this seems to be feasible as the company is going horizontally.
Paytm Mall has been consistently in news since its launch. Paytm Mall’s shifting from being an online marketplace-only model to an online-to-offline (O2O) model and providing a comprehensive seller assistance programme to help merchants on its platform to become GST-compliant have been catching people’s attention.

It has partnered with ClearTax which will offer GSP (GST Suvidha Provider) and ASP (Application Service Provider) to its merchants. It also claimed that over 70 per cent active merchants on its platform are ready for the tax reform.
