What could be a biggest ever data breach in India, Reliance Jio users data has been leaked by a website magicapk.com. The site threw up data such as first and last name, e-mail id, mobile number, date of SIM card activation and which circle it was activated.

Reliance Jio, which claims to have more than 120 million users in India, however, said data seemed unauthentic and investigating their unsubstantiated claims on magicapk.

Entrackr tried to verify the authenticity of the report by using different Jio numbers, in a search box on the site and got details of the customer in return. After few entries, it showed up data related to the concerned person. But many queries showed up a blank response. Besides, the site even claimed to provide Aadhaar details but our entries did not show any results.

The report first appeared on Fonearena.com. At around 11:50, when Entrackr again visited the site, it had a message saying "The account has been suspended". It is still unclear whether it crashed or was suspended by authorities.

We tried further to know owners of the website, but there were no details available on the site. Though the site has been registered in India.

A Reliance Jio spokesperson after the incident in written response said the users don't need to panic as users data is maintained with the highest security. “We want to assure our subscribers that their data is safe and maintained with highest security. Data is only shared with authorities as per their requirement. We have informed law enforcement agencies about the claims of the website and will follow through to ensure strict action is taken,” the spokesperson said.
