Foodetech startup EazyDiner has named Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh as its brand ambassador and investor. EazyDiner was launched by one of the top food critics and Journalist, Vir Sanghvi along with India's top hoteliers and restaurateurs.
All the nitty grittiest were finalised before Yuvraj Singh left for Champions Trophy, and EazyDiner is likely to go public with the announcement before Sunday's Champions Trophy final between India and Pakistan, reported ET Now.
Yuvraj Singh has invested an undisclosed amount in EazyDiner through YouWeCan (his venture capital fund), and will receive stock options in return. The flamboyant cricketer will also be the face of the mobile app.
EazyDiner is an online restaurant reservation platform that offers a curated guide to an extensive range of dining options, with special deals on every single booking and no reservation charges, as per the website of the company.
EazyDiner’s USP is to guarantee table reservations at sold out standalone restaurants like The Indian Accent, Pa Pa Ya and Farzi. It also offers discounts or a free glass of wine or a dessert at popular restaurants including those in 5-star hotels of ITCBSE 1.87 %, Taj Group, Marriott and The Oberoi Group. At present, it is live in eight Indian cities and Dubai.
The start-up claims to be always on the lookout for new dining experiences and exciting cuisines. It has 53000 restaurants listed and gets 15 lakh unique subscribers every month.
Yuvraj Singh has also invested in some other start-ups like Vyomo, an online on demand salon and beauty platform, EduKart.com, a leading education marketplace , JetSetGo, an online marketplace for private jet and helicopter charter flights, Cartisan, an automotive service marketplace, Black White Orange Brands Pvt Ltd, a Mumbai-based brand licensing start-up, to name a few.
