Union government’s push for a transition to electric vehicles(EV) in India is paying off as Transport Ministry revealed the figures for EV registration. The official figure stands around 4,00,000 but the actual number could be much more as many vehicles and e-rickshaws on road are not registered.
The recent union budget also incentivized EV adoption with tax exemption on EV components. Number wise UP registers 139,000 EVs and Delhi stood at 76,000 with mostly being e-rickshaws. (Source)
