About 1862 startups registered with the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) site have got orders worth Rs 275 crore till April 2019, said DPIIT Secretary Ramesh Abhishek. Govt had launched the site for online purchase of goods and services in August 2016.
Till date, over 18,000 startups have been recognised by DPIIT, he added. Last month alone, 814 startups have received recognition. Around 16,105 startups have reported 1,84,004 jobs as part of startup India initiative. (Source)
