Vernacular social networking app ShareChat has finally taken action against accounts spreading fake news and misinformation. It has removed 487,000 unique pieces of content and 54,404 accounts since February.
ShareChat has been investing heavily in moderation to keep it clean, said Berges Y Malu, ShareChat’s head for public policy in a blog post.
It’s one of the five firms that agreed to the ECI for removing objectional content.
