Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has received the approval from Railway Board to restore service charges from passengers booking online tickets from September 1.
IRCTC likely to charge a convenience fee of Rs 15 and Rs 30 on e-tickets for general and AC classes, respectively. These charges are restored almost three years after they were withdrawn to promote digital payments after demonetisation. IRCTC also filed DHRP to raise Rs 600 crore through the IPO (Source).
