Walmart’s global anti-bribery compliance programme has now reached the Indian shore as its subsidiary Flipkart has hired KPMG to conduct due diligence of B2B vendors on the e-commerce marketplace.
After a corruption scandal in its Mexico unit, Walmart has been working hard to avoid such practices in any foreign country. Of late, Walmart was reportedly investigating Flipkart’s compliance lapses and bribe paid to govt officials for setting up fulfillment centres. Flipkart, however, denied the report. (Source)
