To spruce up its game in grocery against rivals Amazon and BigBasket, Flipkart is reportedly in talks to acquire grocery chain Namdhari Fresh. Owned and operated by Namdhari Seeds, the firm has 30 stores in Bengaluru.
So far, Flipkart never took grocery seriously. Although it started ‘Supermart‘ to catch up with Amazon and BB in late 2017, it’s yet to see a priority from Flipkart. Acquiring Namdhari Fresh seems to be a serious effort towards building grocery play. (Source)
