US tech giant Apple is reportedly planning to set up India’s first retail destinations in Mumbai. Tim Cook-led firm has been in discussions for years with the Indian government for manufacturing and setting up retail outlets across the country.
Manufacturing in India will also allow it to sidestep 20% tariffs on imported phones. The development comes at a time when the iPhone maker is aiming to win the Indian smartphone market. Apple has through its retail outlet created a premium image in the world. (Source)
