Amazon’s food retail unit (ARIPL) is planning to expand to 60 tier 2-3 cities in next one year. Currently, ARIPL has a presence in more than 100 cities.
The company has already started the process of lining up small delivery centres in these cities. It received federal approval for investing $500 million into the venture and recently got Rs 240 crore funding from Singapore-based parent entity. (Source)
